There were a lot of V8 Mustangs produced over the years, but there has always been a mystique surrounding the elusive “K” code 289 High Performance cars.
While most were GT models, this video features a rare standard 1965 Mustang powered by the 271 HP high-compression “K” code 289 from the Brothers Collection.
the K-Code was a 1965-1967 Mustang that came from the factory with a special 289 High Performance cubic-inch engine beneath its hood.
Each K-Code Mustang had a special badge on their front fenders that read “HIGH PERFORMANCE 289”. No doubt about it, the K-Code Mustang was all performance.
Serious drivers opted for the K Code. It was the same race proven HIPO motor found under the hood of Shelby’s GT 350.
