Since the Monkey 125 is based on the MSX it’s physically much larger than the original Z50 monkey bike, which is still sold in Japan. The Z50 is 1365mm long with an 895mm wheelbase and 8-inch wheels, while the MSX is 1760mm long, has a 1010mm wheelbase and 12-inch wheels.

The Monkey 125 is shod with Maxxis Tortuga tyres. Honda were stunned by the success of the MSX125 when it was introduced in 2015, selling over 1000 in the UK, outperforming any of the firm’s larger-capacity models and becoming a global phenomenon.
