The Patrouille de France and the three Jetmen Yves Rossy, Vincent Reffet and Fred Fugen fly together in an unprecedented aerial choreography. Two different aeronautical experiences come together as one adventure, portraying the beauty of human flight and beyond.
The three thrill-seekers jump from a helicopter before swooping alongside eight PAF aircraft emblazoned with the French tricolor.
Although it may seem an easy or random task, such formation flying requires much preparation in order to reduce turbulence and consequent instability.
The flight was filmed by France-based Airborne Films using 30 cameras, with co-CEO Eric Magnan filming above from an inverted Extra 330.
The formation was held at a speed of 145 knots, Magnan said, with jetmen sometimes flying just 15 feet away from the PAF’s airplanes.
