In this video we meet Elayna & Riley, an Australian couple living on a sailboat. Their boat, the SV La Vagabonde, is a 43.4 foot Beneteau Cyclades that Riley bought in Italy.
Their ship is called “La Vagabonde” and is 43 feet long. On deck, they can steer and sunbathe, and down beneath deck, they have sitting area, a bedroom, and a kitchen.
The couple have been living on the boat for over a year, and sailed it from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, with a fairly smooth Atlantic crossing in between.
Once they get their fill of the Caribbean they’ll be sailing to Australia and possibly continuing on from there to do a complete circumnavigation of the globe.
On board they have 2 flexible solar panels and a wind generator for power, and a water maker to turn salt water into fresh drinking water.
The couple had very little sailing experience to start with but they learned the ropes quite quickly.
We would be hesitant to do the same without taking some sailing courses but it seems to have worked out really well for these guys; and we love watching videos of their adventures.
