After a painstaking 80 years in labour-intensive captivity, these two elephants have finally been released to roam freely with the help of a YouTube star.Vlogger and filmmaker, Christian Leblanc, 23, from Canada, teamed up with the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to rescue the mistreated pair.

Boonme, 80-years-old and Buabaan, 50, have spent most their existence working in the logging industry and elephant-trekking trade, where, like slaves, they were forced to work until exhaustion while being bound by chains.

Now though, thanks to Christian, his team and thousands of dollars to pay for their release, the pair are free to roam in the luxurious surroundings of the nature park.

Complete with a river and mud-bath, Boonme and Buaban now spend most of their time splashing around, playing and snacking on fresh fruit and vegetables.
