If you believe what you see you in the movies, it might be reasonable to think that an invisible car could actually exist and travel the roadways. With a little bit of Top Gear engineering, as the crew calls it, Richard Hammond sets out with a Ford Transit and a couple of supplies to try and bring this movie concept to life.

Taking the principal that to see through something you need to see what’s behind it, they covered the driver’s side of the car in mats of LEDs, and mounted a digital SLR camera on the opposite side of the vehicle.

By using the cameras to project what is on one side of the vehicle to the screens on the other side, the truck would, in theory, prove to be invisible.
