When Jose Antonio Nievas was out for a walk on Christmas Day he came across something rather peculiar along the riverbank of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He thought he had stumbled upon a massive dinosaur egg, however, he was very wrong.
What he found was a giant, round, greenish object that appeared to be covered in scales. No one knew what it was, however, after further excavation it was determined that the item was a shell of a beast that wandered around South America more than 10,000 years ago.
As Nievas’ wife Reina said in an interview with AFP, ‘My husband went out to the car and when he came back he said, Hey I just found an egg that looks like it came from a dinosaur. We all laughed because we thought it was a joke.’
It was no joke, the shell measuring out at a meter long. In the video, crowds of people can be seen looking at the discovery in fasciation, some getting close for an up close view as they touch and survey the amazing fossil.
This clip posted on YouTube and was viewed more than 346.000 times. One user said: “What a great find! And kudo’s to the farmer for not destroying it.”
But other didn’t believe this and wrote: “I don’t think we are getting the truth of this. Strange things have been happening in that location and people have witnessed a falling star that landed in that area a few days before. There have even been people saying they have seen a monster like creature that shoots laser beams out of it’s eyes and can jump 20 times further than any man :O It is Alien, beware… lol.”
