Is Time Travel really Possible? In this clip Professor Brian Cox – a confirmed Doctor Who fan – undertakes an experiment with a light showing that time moves faster for a stationary clock than a moving clock, which appears to move more slowly over the same length of time.

The laws of time travel in Doctor Who are pretty fluid, with either the Doctor being able to change events in time or finding that they’re pre-determined. His conclusion is that time travel is possible, but only into the future!

The theory is based on Einstein’s Theory of Special Relatively that states to travel forward in time, an object would need to reach speeds close to the speed of light. As an object approach these speeds, time slows down but only for that specific object travelling.
