The driver then reverses and takes off after causing so much damage to Christopher’s black Mercedes SLK that it may be written off.Christopher said the Mercedes was not drivable after the Corsa rammed into it on Haweswater Drive, Middleton, Greater Manchester.
He was woken by neighbours after the crash and rushed outside to see the damage – which is estimated to run into thousands of pounds. He said: “It was an absolute state. I couldn’t believe someone could do that and just drive off.”The CCTV has been shared more than 20,000 times with people across the country trying to identify the driver of the Vauxhall.
“I have reported it to the police but I just want the driver to come forward. The car has been caught by so many cameras it’s only a matter of time before the driver is found.“I would like to think the driver would have the decency to come forward. There’s nothing to be scared about, all I need is the registration and then this can all be sorted out.
