Watch video of C&C trucks transporting wind turbine blades for the windfarm project, it took place on the Baoding mountain in Yunnan province.
The journey with each blade took five hours, and the drivers had to negotiate the load through villages with buildings on either side of the road, and high voltage power lines. The blades are 52.4 metres long, and weigh over 12 tons.
However, there are people whose job it is to transport these gigantic machines and their blades to the tops of mountains, so we can get all of that great clean energy, and there’s lots of risk involved. Just see for yourself!
One wind turbine can be sufficient to generate energy for a household. Because wind is a source of energy which is non-polluting and renewable, wind turbines create power without using fossil fuels, without producing greenhouse gases or radioactive or toxic waste.
