Paris—without people? No, this isn’t an apocalypse. This is Paris … in China. The city of Tianducheng was created as a replica of the French capital during China’s economic boom in the early 2000s. Originally built for 10,000 inhabitants, only 2,000 now live there full-time. But you know what they say: “imitation is the highest form of flattery.”
What else can we say that hasn’t already been said, really? It is the Chinese version of the city of love after all.
Tianducheng, or “Sky Capital City,” is a real estate development modeled after the city of lights, right down to a version of the Eiffel Tower that is one-third the height of the real one.
Chinese can imitate almost everything. From luxury bags to whatever the fad is, they have it already freshly made.
