This machine was restored a few years ago and was upgraded with a Velorex sidecar model 562 in the 1990s. The original type plate matches frame, engine and numbers on both cylinders. The machine is fully road ready and has papers from Germany.

The Zündapp KS601 Sport is the successor of the proven KS600. The engine produces 32ps and is very well suited for sidecar operation.The KS601 was produced from 1950 to 1958. During those years a total of just over 5000 were built in three variants.

The KS601 through 1957 with plunger suspension, the KS601 Sport from 1952 to 1957 with more horsepower, and the KS601 Elastic from 1957 to 1958 with the Sport engine and swingarm rear suspension.

The KS601 was developed from the pre-war KS600 which was also briefly produced in the early post-war years. It features a tubular steel frame replacing the pressed-metal chassis and telescopic forks, and was the fastest German road bike of the day.
