Toyota Crown is a dynamic combination of elements: the executive styling of a premium sedan, the flowing shape of a sports car, and the elevated cabin of an SUV. The all-new Crown is a different type of sedan that essentially replaces the late Avalon in an attempt to lure SUV-obsessed buyers back to cars. Exclusively equipped with a hybrid powertrain, it offers XLE and Limited models with 236 horsepower and combined fuel consumption of just 5.7 L/100 km.
The Platinum model is billed as the performance variant of the lineup because it makes more power, gets a six-speed automatic transmission instead of the CVT, and comes standard with a trim-specific adaptive suspension. The top-line Crown Platinum boosts output to 340 horsepower and still burns less than 8 L/100 km on average.
All units feature Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.Underneath the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum’s hood lies an all-new Hybrid MAX powertrain featuring a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor on the rear axle. This results in 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 5.7 seconds – nearly two seconds faster than the XLE and Limited’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system. The Platinum’s engine also delivers 340 combined net horsepower.
The Crown Platinum shines the brightest when factoring in its large amount of exclusive comfort, technological, and safety features. An adaptive suspension ensures a smooth ride by allowing drivers to select how the car handles in relation to driving conditions.
