This is the new 2025 BMW M5 and it’s the 7th generation of an iconic lineage that debuted over 40 years ago. The new M5 has been controversial, mostly because of his gigantic size and heft, but it does have some redeeming qualities like a V8 powertrain with almost 720 horsepower.

Today I’m reviewing this new BMW M5 and I’ll show you the many quirks and features. I’m also going to get behind the wheel and show you what it’s like to drive.
The combination of a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor, abetted by an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic and the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system gives drivers a new experience of the performance with which M models have made their name.

The F90 M5 accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.1 seconds. In imperial measurements 60 mph (97 km/h) is reached in 2.8 seconds and 100 mph (161 km/h) in 6.6 seconds. The standing 400m (quarter mile) is achieved in 10.9 seconds, making this iteration of the M5 a 10-second car. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), or 305 km/h (190 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Pack.
