This is the new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 and it’s a fully electric SUV for the whole family. Despite the Ioniq 9’s larger size, it still provides impressive range figures that make this a realistic electric family SUV. Today I’m reviewing this Hyundai Ioniq 9 and I’ll show you the many quirks and features.

Wrapped in an exterior that sort of rounds off some of the sharp angularity of the Ioniq 5, the 9 manages to make the large two-box shape appealing. Inside, the Ioniq 9 offers room for adults across all three rows; you could easily fit three 6-footers sitting behind each other.
There will be both six- and seven-seat versions of the Ioniq 9 available, with higher trim levels offering captain’s chairs that come with footrests and the ability to recline quite far. You’ll find a center console that can open forward or backward so it can be accessed by passengers from both rows, and there’s an available UV sterilizing tray. A pair of 12.3-inch screens house a gauge cluster and multimedia display.

The Ioniq 9 will be available with three motor configurations. Long Range RWD models will be equipped with a single 215-hp motor on the rear axle. Long Range AWD models use the same motor at the rear and get an additional 94-hp motor to the front axle, while Performance AWD models have the more powerful motors on both. The EPA ratings for the range are above 300 miles for every configuration thanks to a 110.3-kWh battery pack.
