In this DIY project video we are going to convert our bicycle into an electric one. We are going to use a car alternator that we have converted to a permanent magnet brushless motor that we have converted in previous project video.

Have a look at this project video as we are going to have lots of fun building this bicycle. The trickiest part of this build looks like it was cutting off the bike’s rear wheel mount and replacing it with a plate that holds the alternator and a pair of reduction gears pulled from a 125cc motorbike.
For making these gear usefull for our bike we have to undo those rivits on big gear and drilled the holes for mounting it on the aluminium bush which will later join with the rear wheel. In order to mount the alternator DIY King uses 5mm thick metal strip and cutted in two pieces and welded them togther for securing both of the front mounting holes of our alternator.

Once you’ve got your modified alternator, the rest is relatively easy. To test out his handiwork, DIY King took to the streets and was able to get the bike up to 70 km/h before his courage ran out. He thinks the motor should be able to push it up to 85 km/h.
