CycloTech has introduced the concept of its first flying car, CruiseUp, a two-passenger electric plane. In its initial concept, the CruiseUp is twice the size of a regular car, providing room for two passengers. With six strategically located CycloRotors, the car has a futuristic look. In addition, it is planned to include a small compartment for luggage or carrying additional passengers.

CycloRotors are thrust vector systems that enable an immediate thrust generation 360 degree around the rotation axis at constant rotation speed and direction within fractions of a second.

A CruiseUp plane requires constant thrust to stay in the air, which requires significant energy consumption. CycloTech estimates a top speed of 150 km/h and a range of approximately 100 km.

The specific orientation of the 6 rotors, with 2 on the length axis of the vehicle, enables high-precision sideways and backward flight, as well as mid-air braking – all without tilting or banking the vehicle.

The unprecedented test campaign revealed that the CycloRotor’s sound pressure level at a 100-meter (328 feet) distance is no more than 59 dBA, making this system exceptionally quiet. The CycloRotor claims to be a game-changing propulsion technology for the eVTOL market. It’s described as a 360-degree thrust vector control system.
