A central column of soil running down the back of the planter gives roots plenty of room to spread out and settle in.


Cut the lumber yourself if you have some woodworking experience or make it easy by having the boards precut at your local home improvement store.

Build it in a single morning. Then, for easy harvesting, choose a spot near the house that gets at least six hours of sun per day. The end assemblies are braced A-frames made from natural cedar.
