The Quintessenza is a unique blend of a sleek coupe and a versatile pickup truck, featuring a bed hidden beneath a removable rear windshield. This concept was first introduced at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2024. However, the version showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show was equipped with cutting-edge Sonic One in-wheel electric motors developed by Elaphe, a Slovenian engineering company.

Elaphe is recognized for its advanced in-wheel motor technology, which previously powered the electric pickup truck from Lordstown, a company no longer in operation. The new Sonic One motors made their debut at the Consumer Electronics Show and boast impressive performance figures.

The motors feature a continuous output of 268 hp and a peak output of 342 hp. In the Quintessenza, four of these motors—each measuring 21 inches in diameter and housed within a 24-inch wheel—combine to deliver over 1,000 hp. Each motor weighs approximately 88 pounds.

Each motor is housed within a twenty-four-inch wheel and weighs approximately eighty-eight pounds. The updated system nearly triples the power of the original setup shown in Beijing, while also improving off-road capabilities. The motors feature twenty times faster wheel control, delivering enhanced traction and stability.
