Christian von Koenigsegg explains that it’s not only possible, but his company has been doing it for a few years now.

Lighter and stiffer wheels are desired by those looking to reduce the unsprung weight of a certain vehicle, because it helps minimizes rotational inertia, vibrations and so on, but they’re rarely used in motor racing.

There is so much carbon fiber on the car that even the wheels are made of the material using a technology Koenigsegg developed called Aircore.

All this carbon fiber allows the wheel to be an impressive 40% lighter than a forged aluminum wheel, but still much stronger.
