This is the new 2025 Mercedes-Benz HWA EVO; a homage to the iconic Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II. The original EVO II was driven by a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine tuned by Cosworth, but HWA has opted for a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter V6, supplied by Mercedes itself. The car you see in the video is still a prototype and just 100 examples of the HWA EVO will be produced, priced from €714,000.

HWA is a German engineering and racing-specialist firm with deep ties to AMG and the motorsport wing of Mercedes-Benz. Designed and engineered as a homologation special to boost the 190E’s competitiveness in touring car racing, the EVO II boasted, in addition to its 2.5-liter twin-cam four-cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission and lowered suspension, a race-spec front splitter and aerodynamic fender flares.
Starting with a regular 190E donor car, HWA reinforces the steel centre section of its chassis and attaches custom aluminium subframes at either end, stretching the wheelbase by 80mm. The car is then clothed in structural carbonfibre, extending and exaggerating the lines of the original Evo II.

The car’s forged alloy wheels pay tribute to those found on the original 2.5-16 Evo II, but come in larger 19-inch and 20-inch sizes. Inside, a pair of Recaro seats are fitted, complete with four-point harnesses. A modern climate control system will be included, along with a digital instrument panel and new navigation software.
