The Alpod Mobile Home is Made from a lightweight aluminum shell. its flexible and open concept living space is relatively easy to transport and can serve as a micro home, holiday cabin, office, retail or exhibition space. Its been designed and developed in a collaborative effort by James Law Cybertecture, Aluhaouse, and Arup.
It’s designed as an exclusive high-tech pod house. Inside, you’ll be presented with minimalist yet futuristic interior based on a contemporary flexible open-plan living. Everything is integrated in one smart system, from environmental controls, lighting, skylights, kitchen, bathroom, and full height glazing.
The Alpod looks like a container home but is more of a pod built entirely out of aluminum, which was chosen for its light weight and durability.
Each Alpod is outfitted with sliding glass doors, a living area, kitchen and bathroom, but no dedicated bedroom. The 480-square-foot interior also features built-in LED lighting, environmental controls, integrated kitchen appliances, air conditioning, and ventilation windows and skylights.

Where land is restricted, the designers say multiple Alpod homes could be stacked on top of one another, creating a micro-living skyscraper, in which each unit could change its position within the tower.
Besides being modular by design, the Alpod concept allowed multi-functionality due to its linear layout. The Alpod is currently being featured in the Hong Kong 2015 Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture at the Kowloon Park and Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre.
