A new behind the scenes video released by the BBC shows the terrifying moment when sharks attack one of the Blue Planet II submersibles.

The Blue Planet II team dive to over 700 meters to see what happens to a whale carcass on the seabed. Whilst filming sharks as they feast, the sharks start to take a worrying interest in the submarine!
The video below shows the six-metre-long animals repeatedly ramming the submersible; at one point one of the operators says, “The submarine is very strong, but they are so big and strong that I am a little bit afraid.”
The whole thing has a happy ending, however. The sharks may’ve realized that the scientists had actually brought their own lunch.One of the scientists expresses some nervousness during the encounter, but are we really so afraid of sharks?
