Hydro-Québec has developed a robot to inspect transmission line conductor bundles. This is the first world product of the inspection and maintenance robotics team that works out of the company’s research centre, IREQ.
Widely used around the world, lines made up of conductor bundles present special challenges for robot locomotion.
Hydro-Québec says the LineRanger has a user-friendly interface and can easily be set up on a line, making it ideal for large‑scale implementation.
