Pagani released the Huayra Codalunga, which translates to Long Tail, at least year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed where I was lucky to ride shotgun in the passenger seat of this very car on the famous hillclimb. It’s limited to only 5 customer cars, built at client request by the new Grandi Complicazioni division to throw back to the sports prototypes of the 60s and 70s.
Visually elegant and uncluttered, the Codalunga provides a paradox between the beauty and smartness of design, with the brutal powerplant that’s producing 840 horsepower thanks to the AMG 6.0l twin turbo V12.

After a walkaround tour outside the Pagani museum and factory, it’s time to head onto the road, joined by Simone, where my eyes awaken to what the Codalunga is about – more than just a car. However, in terms of driving dynamics, the single-clutch gearbox is far more refined than any previous iteration, the sounds are totally changed and feature a high pitch exhaust note, combined with the familiar bangs the Huayra is known to produce. There is no doubt that this is a special car, just how special is hard to put into words. Thank you very much to the Pagani team for this unbelievable opportunity to experience the car, and to be able to share it with you.
