What happens when you start gluing matches together? Because the heads are slightly wider than the wooden bodies, they begin to form a sphere.This was an experiment in how many matches it would take to get all the way around to make a perfect globe.

After months of gluing and gluing and gluing we made it to the other side. Then the experiment shifted to see what it would look like when this thing burned.It got me wondering what would happen if I started gluing them together and never stopped.
I imagined a sphere would form so I set out to find out.The best way to describe this process is to articulate my mental and emotional state while gluing matches together for hours upon hours.

Gluing it together was a painstakingly delicate task, but it didn’t stop the guy from setting the whole thing on fire. Watching it disappear in flames would be more upsetting if the burn, which you can watch from three different angles, wasn’t so satisfying.
