Austal Hull 419, FSTR for Fjord Line of Norway has been launched at Austal Philippines shipyard in Balamban, Cebu.The 109 metre catamaran is the largest high speed aluminium ferry ever constructed in the Philippines and the largest (by volume) ever constructed by Austal, worldwide.

A catamaran is a multi-hulled watercraft featuring two parallel hulls of equal size. It is geometry-stabilized and derives its stability from its wide beam.
The ship can transport 1200 passengers at up to 40 knots and features the largest vehicle carrying capacity of any ferry constructed by Austal – 404 cars across two decks.

The ship features several key design innovations that enhance operating performance and passenger comfort, including a new, optimized hull form that will minimize fuel consumption.
