This video looks at diagnosing a broken heater. We’ll talk about engine coolant, heater cores, water pumps, HVAC controls, HVAC fans, thermostats, radiators, and all the ins & outs and best practices when looking to understand why and how your heat doesn’t work in your car.
In a water-cooled car, the heater casing contains a matrix – a small radiator – that takes hot water from the engine through a hose .Incoming air goes through the water-heated matrix and is warmed.
There is also an electric fan , which can be switched on to blow air through the system when the car is stationary, or when extra ventilation is called for.The fan can be adjusted to run at different speeds, according to need.s this air travels over the heater core, it heats up and becomes the hot air which blows out your heater vents.
