Penetrating oil is a liquid which has very low viscosity. This oil is used to loosen mechanical parts that have got rusted so that they can be removed and replaced.This test demonstrates that not all penetrating oils are equal.

In fact, the see-through plastic/rusty bolt test shows which ones actually penetrate and which ones don’t. Penetrating oil is is capable of getting into the thin space where the threads of the rusted parts meet.
