AN ITALIAN hairstylist has spent more than €80,000 covering her car in human hair. Paying tribute to her profession, Maria Lucia Mugno holds the official Guinness World Record for owning the world’s hairiest car.

Taking her more than 150 hours to complete, Maria’s Fiat 500 is now concealed in 100kg of women’s natural hair that she acquired from India. It reportedly took 150 hours to create her follicle Fiat art car.
When all was said and done, the weight of the hair increased the car’s curb weight by 20%.Not only does covering the tiny Fiat in hair drastically reduce performance, but it also requires regular cleaning and “servicing”, just like real human hair.

Maria’s Fiat 500 is covered completely in human hair from the outside and inside and is travel-safe,the only part of the car that is not covered in hair is the wheels since they’d just come off, and the engine compartment as it would be a fire hazard.
