Nearly 4 years into the RÜNGE R2 Commission Today it finally moved under its own power. The R2 is built on a stainless monocoque tub using Porsche 911 3.6L non varioram 993 power placed midship and mated to a 5 speed gearbox.
The body is a one-off designed and handcrafted from aluminum here at my workshop. I also used Brembo brakes and Techart Speedline wheels wrapped in Michelin tires.
The body is hand formed aluminum wrapped over the Runge “Superleicht” aluminum tube form system and an integrated safety cage. The windshield is that of a Porsche 962.
The engine is mated to a 5 Speed Porsche gearbox with gears selected through a WEVO Short Shift system. The estimated top speed will be 165MPH. The car will also feature a 12V AC System from Classic Retrofit. via/read more: rungecars
