The ship will sail an inaugural summer season in the Mediterranean, before homeporting in Miami from early November to begin seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.Currently, the exterior has been completed on the ship.
The second phase of construction will concentrate on beautifying and finishing up the interior décor of the Symphony. Once complete will be a massive 230,000 gross tons. The construction and fitting out phase is taking place at the STX France shipyard.
Symphony will be more than 3,000 tons bigger than the current size leader in the cruise world, Royal Caribbean’s 226,963-ton Harmony of the Seas. Like Harmony, Symphony will be part of Royal Caribbean’s record-breaking Oasis Class of ships, though it won’t be an exact copy of its sisters.
