Artist Bobby Duke recently shared some amazing close-ups along with a comprehensive ‘making of’ video (embedded below) for his one-of-a-kind, hand-made hunting knife made from a stainless steel bold.

There is little to no practical use for Bobby Duke’s latest endeavor, aside from proving to the world, and himself, that he could make a knife from one Stainless steel bolt that he got from Lowe’s.
My experience has taught me that there’s nothing like digging in and getting started. I’ve often said the hardest part of the most dif?cult project I ever completed was getting past the decision to get started. Once I get started, it becomes a matter of problem solving and never giving up.

After you have the steel, trace your design onto it in permanent marker. You’ll notice that my tracing is a little bit bigger than my design–I had to elongate the handle to fit my hand, and the blade just didn’t look good unless it was a good inch longer than the grip. Now you’re ready for the next step.
