In this video we’re sharing our experience spending a couple of nights in a traditional Mongolian yurt (ger) but one that has a really neat modification: floor to ceiling windows along one wall. We love yurts because they’re portable, affordable, and made with natural materials.

We’re going to give you a full tour of the yurt we stayed in, as well as the pros and cons we anticipate from using a yurt as a full time alternative housing option even during winter.
This yurt was handcrafted in Mongolia and imported by our friends at Groovy Yurts. They have an awesome selection of yurts and they also have a couple of yurts set up at their farm in Alexandria, Ontario that will soon be B&Bs where people can come try sleeping in a yurt.
With its unique design, structure and practical features, the yurt is still a popular habitation. Mongolian yurts are attracting interest from people in many parts of the world as an ecologically friendly and attractive living space that can be used for a variety of purposes.
