The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt is a World War II-era fighter aircraft produced by the American aerospace company Republic Aviation from 1941 through 1945.

This seriously large P-47 was flown at the Stow Maries Scale RC Show by John Mason of TJD Models. It has wingspan of 122 inches, the weight is around 70 lbs and the model is powered by a two cylinder DLE-170 gasoline engine.
The airplane stands on Shinden landing gear.Other engine options for this giant are the DA-200, DLE-222, MOKI 250 and 300. All composite parts are prefabricated to the highest possible level.

This airplane represents in the air absolutely like the real thing. It is extremely stable, at the same time versatile and maneouverable. The wide speed range and the absolutely smooth stall characteristics make it a pleasure to fly.
