In this video I show how to make a classic coffee table game with a hydrophobic twist. I’m sure I’ll be asked the question of why not just spray a store bought labyrinth game with a hydrophobic coating.

And yes that is possible if you don’t care to make your own. For those that try it will be tricky to get an even coating but it should work fine with multiple coats.Watch the video from NightHawkInLight for more info:
NightHawkInLight gives a run through of how he made the labyrinth by using a superhydrophobic spray to cover all of the surfaces to ensure that the water droplets are essentially “repelled” by the labyrinth, allowing it to freely flow around the course.

While NightHawkInLight doesn’t show us in the video what type of hydrophobic coatings he used, it does help to highlight how the coatings work in general, whilst also providing a fun alternative use! There are several products that can be used to create hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfaces.
