The first permitted, 3D-printed home created specifically for the developing world was unveiled today in Austin, Texas by New Story, the non-profit working to create a world where no human being lives in survival mode.

The finalized costs for these homes will be determined through sourcing local materials needed for the homes. The end goal is a significant decrease the cost per home.

The printer uses local materials and produces zero waste.The community, when finished later this year, will house more than 400 individuals. The home recipients are hardworking families – many who are supported as brick makers as their occupation.
