In the 19th century, Nikola Tesla demonstrated wireless control technology for devices for the first time. He controlled a toy boat using only radio waves, with no stringing wires at all! An advanced version of this technology is something we all use in our daily lives.

Tesla was able to control the on-off condition of the propeller and angle of the rudder, thus gaining complete steering control of his boat. Watch the video from lesics for more info:

The deck of the ship was equipped with one antenna for receiving signals and two others topped with small light bulbs. Inside the boat’s hull there was an electric motor driving both the propeller and rudder, a battery and a mechanism for receiving the radio signals sent from the control box.
